Bonsai Yama Review threw his hat in the ring circa June 2017, but he’s come a long way since he first reviewed the Encore in Las Vegas. More than seven years later, Joe’s stayed true to his original roots with content that leans 60% towards food or hotel reviews and 40% towards slots.
His unique approach to content creation has earned him 99.5k+ subscribers, and he’s collected upwards of 2.46 million views across 451 videos. While he’s not the best man to watch if you’re looking for purist casino uploads, he makes it possible to live vicariously through his adventures.
Streamer Bio
Joe got popular by proxy as he posted himself at Las Vegas’ biggest resorts and restaurants, and he seems like the kind of guy who’d rather eat steak nachos with fries than spin through slots like a nine-to-five job. While his slot videos are top-notch, he’s not always at the casino!
Beyond publishing his biggest wins and losses, Bonsai Yama’s unfiltered commentary about Sin City as a whole is the primary selling point for his channel. Authenticity goes a long way, and not many streamers have taken advantage of more casino comps (and free hotel stays) than Joe.
Channel Highlights
Most Popular Video: I FLEW PRIVATE FOR CHEAP
Bonsai Yama’s most popular video was published on October 20, 2021. Since then, his account of using a semi-private airline to get from Las Vegas to LAX “for cheap” has gotten 858k+ views.
Over the course of fifteen minutes, he narrates his experience arriving at JSX a half-hour early to catch his flight. Notably, we didn’t see Joe get assaulted by TSA agents before taking a seat on the 31-passenger plane. At the time, he cited safety concerns for seeking out a private flight.
After the plane took off, Bonsai Yama gave his fans some killer views above the clouds before turning his attention to their in-flight menu. Instead of circus peanuts and a warm can of soda, I watched Joe indulge with Brownie Brittle Chocolate Chip cookies and Green Pea Snack Crisps.
While he didn’t elaborate on how much he spent back then, JSX runs the same one-way flight for as little as $259 right now.
Biggest Win: $10,884 playing Mammoth Power
Joe had a profitable summer last year. In July 2024, he was spinning Mammoth Power Massive Handpay in The Venetian’s high-limit room. He might have started out with a mere $200, but he won his largest-ever $10,884 jackpot during the bonus while betting an impressive $30 per spin.
At the 7:13 mark of this video, a full screen of generous multipliers pushed his session into the stratosphere. He pocketed 18x the value of his actual win, and the relief was palpable as Joe’s $11 bankroll turned into a five-figure payday.
Community and Giveaways
Unfortunately, Bonsai Yama is one of the only streamers without a “Community” page erected on YouTube. While he posts life updates and video announcements on social media, he’s too busy enjoying the lavish lifestyle to host meet-and-greets (or interact with his fans) in Sin City.
