Sweepstakes Casinos Available in Canada

Canadians can now enjoy playing their favourite casino games online at sweepstakes casinos. They offer the same great entertainment as real-money casinos with better bonuses and lower rollover requirements than offshore or provincially licenced casinos. You can play for fun with Gold Coins, or play in sweepstakes mode to win real money prizes.

With just a handful of sweepstakes casinos available to Canadians, we put together this list to help you know where to play. While it’s a short list, the great news is that every site on it is top-tier!

About Crown Coins

Crown Coins Casino takes the top spot for its generous bonuses, great game selections, and easy payments.

Crown Coins offers 421 slot games from major developers, including Pragmatic Play. Pragmatic is known for big-name titles like Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza and recently withdrew its games from sweepstakes casinos in the States, so its presence on the Canadian Crown Coins sites is a significant advantage.

The casino has also begun adding table and live dealer games to its library. We found just a handful of game shows so far, but hope that more live games will be added soon.

For payments, Canadians can use Interac as well as credit cards. The package prices at Crown Coins are all in CAD, and note that some payment options available in the US will appear on the payment page, but you won’t be able to use them (e.g., Skrill).

Players also have access to all of Crown Coins’s bonuses, which include their daily login offer, coin drops, and races.
Canadian iOS users will be able to download Crown Coins’s app at the Apple Store, but Android users are out of luck. However, the mobile site performs well on every device.

About Wow Vegas

Wow Vegas has more than 1,700 titles in its game library, making it one of the largest libraries we’ve found so far. Most of these are slot games, but Wow Vegas also has a live casino section as well as scratch games, shooting games, and Wow Originals exclusives.

Unfortunately, even though table games like blackjack, roulette, and war are available in the menu, most live dealer games have a regional restriction and are not available to

Canadian players. If you want to play tables and live dealer games at Wow Vegas you are limited to a handful of games from Vivo.

There are fun ways to earn extra coins at Wow Vegas, like the Friday Fifty prize pool and their Shooting Star VIP program. There’s also the four-level Wow Vegas jackpot which can award you with millions of Wow Coins.

Wow Vegas’s payment options are a little less Canadian-friendly than other casinos. Prices are listed in USD currency, and the payment options haven’t been updated for Canadians. (Interac isn’t available, but Diners Club – a credit card hardly used by Canadians – is.)

Wow Vegas also adds a 2.9% processing fee to transactions. When factored into the exchange rate, the prices at Wow Vegas can really rack up.

However, we do like that gift card redemptions start at just 25 SC, which is lower than some of the other casinos on this list.

About McLuck

Canadian players can enjoy all of the same features at McLuck as their American neighbours. This includes almost 900 slot games as well as a small selection of live dealers. They can also opt in to the progressive jackpot for the chance to win 200 million Gold Coins.

The welcome bonus at McLuck is the same on both sides of the border, at 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 free Sweepstakes Coins. If you want to take advantage of their first-purchase bonus, McLuck’s coin packages are listed in USD, but the Canadian exchange rate is helpfully provided underneath.

If you are looking to play social live table games, titles from Vivo and Playtech are available, while the games from Iconic 21 games have a regional restriction.

Payment options are a bit limited at McLuck, but they do accept Canadian banking staple Interac, as well as Visa and Mastercard.

McLuck provides plenty of bonuses to sweeten gameplay, including prize pool tournaments, a daily login bonus, and social media competitions. Their eight-level loyalty club offer even more opportunities to earn free coins and other rewards.
McLuck is not available for Quebec residents.

About Rolla

Rolla is a new arrival on the sweeps scene, launching in both the US and Canada in 2025. It’s operated by the same company as WOW Vegas, so you can expect the same quality experience at this casino.

To start with, Rolla offers nearly 1,800 slot games. Unlike their sister site, Rolla doesn’t offer any live games for Canadians, but they have some shooting games, and a good number of Megaways, Hold and Wins, and classic slots.

Their payment options are also similar to Wow Vegas, with only credit cards offered to Canadian users. The prices of coin packages aren’t converted to Canadian prices, so you’ll have to add the exchange rate as well as a 2.9% processing fee on transactions.

However, we were really impressed with the first-purchase offer at Rolla. 1,250,000 GC + 25 SC are available for $9.99, but if you purchase within your first hour after signing up, you’ll get an extra bonus for the same price, for a total of 1,500,000 GC and 30 SC.

Other standout promotions include the Rock N’ Rolla Daily Race and their High Rolla VIP program.

About Fortune Coins

Fortune Coins brings players more than 1,000 casino-style games from 56 different providers. This includes hundreds of slots, as well as a great collection of instant and fish games. While they don’t have any live or table games here, Canadian players can be assured they’re getting the same library as US players.

Payments and redemptions can be made with convenient Canadian options like Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Skrill and Interac e-transfer. Prices are listed in US currency, but the Canadian conversion rate is provided on the purchase screen.

For bonuses, Canadians can collect Fortune Coins’s whopping welcome offer of 630,000 GC and 1,000 FC, as well as a choice of four first-purchase offers. There’s also a daily bonus, progressive jackpot, VIP program, and other regular promotions.

Unfortunately, Fortune Coins’s highly rated mobile app is not available to Canadians at the Apple and Google Play stores.

Fortune Coins is also unavailable to Canadians living in Ontario and Quebec.

About LuckyBird

LuckyBird is a cryptocurrency-only casino, and that’s just one of the ways it operates a little differently from the other sweeps casinos we’ve listed.

They offer over 1,100 games here, most of them slots. There are some original and exclusive titles here, as well as a selection of live and instant games. You’ll find familiar providers like BGaming and 3 Oaks.

Games at LuckyBird are provably fair thanks to their status as a crypto casino, and if you aren’t sure exactly what that means, the casino gives helpful information in the side menu to get you started.

Since the site only accepts crypto, so you won’t see credit cards or Interac options here. However, you can purchase crypto using any of your usual Canadian methods, and LuckyBird accepts a dozen different crypto types.

Coin packages are listed in USD currency, so you’ll have to calculate the exchange rate on your purchases. Fortunately, Luckybird doesn’t charge any added fees.

The promotions at LuckyBird are worth exploring. They include cashback, treasure chests, daily and hourly races, and more. The best feature at LuckyBird might just be the Faucet, which you can use to add some coins to your account when your balance hits zero.

#7 High 5 Casino

We also checked out High 5 Casino, which offers a mobile app and browser version of their casino. Our experience with High 5 was confusing, as it doesn’t appear to operate like a traditional sweepstakes casino in Canada.

High 5 uses a single system of currency called High 5 Classic (H5C) dollars. You receive 1 million H5C when you sign up, which can be used to play more than 160 games.

You can also purchase more H5C, and the prices are helpfully listed in Canadian currency. However, there’s no clear information about payment options – on my iPad, it simply went through to Apple Pay with no other option for Interac or credit card available.

There’s also no information about how – or if – you can redeem coins for prizes in Canada. This makes us a bit leery to recommend High 5 Casino as a legitimate sweeps casino for Canadians, although it does offer redemptions in the US.

Sweepstakes Sites No Longer Available to Canadians

Things change quickly on the sweeps casino scene, so new websites are entering and exiting Canada all the time.

Chumba Casino is one example of a sweepstakes casino that exited the Canadian market, closing for good on Oct. 23, 2025. Players had to withdraw their redeemable balances and close their accounts by this date.

While all of the sweeps casinos we’ve mentioned on this page are currently operating in Canada, we always recommend staying up to date on the latest news to you know where to play games!

Payments: Deposits & Currencies

Payment methods are the most significant way in which sweepstakes casinos differ between Canada and the US. Some payment options, like Interac, are standard in Canada but not in other countries, and other methods that are used in the States aren’t as common north of the border.

Not all casinos that have expanded into Canada have expanded their payment options, so Canadians may find themselves limited to US methods.

E-wallets like Google Pay and Apple Pay can be another helpful option for Canadians, as you can link your CAD bank account to a digital wallet. You can generally use these options on mobile devices even if they’re not explicitly listed as a method at the casino.

Sweeps Coins Currency Equivalent Value in CAD

Not all sweeps casinos in Canada are the same when it comes to currency. Some casinos update their websites to show coin packages in Canadian dollars, while others list them in USD.

When you sign up for an account, the casino automatically sets the currency to USD or CAD. Some sites help Canadians out by listing the exchange rate on the cashier page, and others may not have made any changes for Canadian players at all.

When in doubt about which currency you can use at a sweepstakes casino, contact their customer support team before making your first purchase.

We put together a table of the most recent exchange rates offered at sweepstakes casinos, based on making a $9.99 USD coin package purchase. Keep in mind this is for illustration purposes only; exchange rates change quickly. You can check the latest rates at a website like XE.com

Sweepstakes CasinoCurrency PlayedExchange rateTotal price in CADDetails
Crown Coins CasinoCADN/A$9.99Defaults to CAD for Canadian players
Wow VegasUSD1.485$14.42Operates in USD but converts purchases to CAD. Also adds a 2.9% service charge.
McLuckUSD1.405$13.98Operates in USD but charges in CAD to avoid any international fees.

RollaUSD1.485$14.42Operates in USD but converts purchases to CAD. Also adds a 2.9% service charge.
High 5 CasinoCADN/A$9.99Doesn’t offer sweepstakes mode for Canadian players.

Overall, we found that sites that charge in Canadian currency – like Fortune Coins, Rolla, Wow Coins, and McLuck – offer favourable exchange rates. This can save you money if your credit or debit card converts purchases at a higher rate.

$39.99 Gold Coin package currency conversion from USD to CAD
A recent purchase showing the currency conversion on a $39.99 USD Gold Coin package

Also bear in mind that like purchases, your withdrawals will also be affected by the casino’s currency. If you’ve bought coins in CAD, your cash redemptions will also be in CAD.

However, if the site operates in US currency, your redemption will be subject to the Canadian exchange rate at the time of your request, so its value will fluctuate.

Mail-in Requests (AMOE) from Canada

Sweepstakes casinos offer alternative methods of entry (AMOE) to allow users to get free coins. The process – and amount of coins – differs by casino, but usually involves mailing your request to the casino on a physical card.

Since sweeps casinos operate according to the same rules in Canada, Canadians are also eligible for AMOE unless stated otherwise.

High 5 Casino is the only one we found that doesn’t offer an AMOE option for Canadians.

Who Has the Best Sweeps Apps in Canada?

Crown Coins was one of the only sweeps casinos we reviewed that had a dedicated app available for download. Some casinos, like McLuck and Fortune Coins, do have apps for American users but they aren’t yet released in Canada.

High 5 Casino also has an app for both Apple and Android, but we’d recommend Crown Coins over High 5 for its overall usability and features.

Note that even if your favourite casino doesn’t have a separate app, you can add a browser version to your mobile device’s home screen for fast and easy access.

Sweepstakes Casinos Legality in Canada

Sweepstakes casinos are provincially regulated in Canada, which is why their availability may be different in some parts of the country.

In most cases, sweepstakes casinos haven’t been defined by the provincial regulations so they’re free to operate in a “grey area”. Because they don’t require real-money spending, they aren’t considered gambling activity.

We’ve researched the legality of sweepstakes casinos in every Canadian province and territory, including who regulates them and their status in each location.

Legal Status by Province/Territory

ProvinceInfo
AlbertaSweepstakes aren’t covered by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), which regulates real-money casinos.
A bill is underway to establish the Alberta iGaming Corporation, which would include sweepstakes casinos.
British ColumbiaThe British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC)’s Gaming Control Act was last updated in August 2025.
It states that casino gambling does not include “social occasion” casinos, which would include sweepstakes casinos.
ManitobaNone of the most recent acts passed by the Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Corporation explicitly mention sweepstakes casinos.
New BrunswickThe Gaming Control Act passed by the New Brunswick Lotteries and Gaming Corporation (NBLGC) doesn’t mention sweepstakes or social casinos.
The Gaming Control Act hasn’t been amended since 2021.
NewfoundlandNewfoundland is part of the Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) to regulate real-money online casinos, but the province has no legislation specific to sweepstakes casinos.
Nova ScotiaNova Scotia’s Gaming Control Act states that casinos should operate in a “socially responsible manner”, but this doesn’t specifically reference social casinos.
OntarioiGaming Ontario was established as an agency of the Government of Ontario in 2021.
Their Gaming Control Act states their object is to “promote responsible gaming” online but doesn’t specifically reference sweepstakes casino.
Prince Edward IslandPEI’s Lotteries Commission Act doesn’t make any mention of online or sweepstakes casinos.
The province is also a member of the Atlantic Lottery Corporation which regulates real-money online casinos.
QuebecLoto-Quebec requires all online casinos to register with the province to operate. This includes sweepstakes casinos, which is why they don’t tend to be available in the province.
SaskatchewanSaskatchewan’s Alcohol and Gaming Regulation Act doesn’t mention online gaming, which would include sweepstakes casinos. PlayNow.com is the only site where SK residents can play online casino games.

In all three territories, there are no government-regulated online casinos, leaving residents with offshore casinos and sweepstakes casinos as the best options.

TerritoryInfo
Northwest TerritoriesNWT’s Lotteries Act contains a section on casino but doesn’t address online gambling directly.
NunavutNunavut’s Liquor Act only addresses in-person gambling, making no mention of online casinos.
YukonYukon’s Public Lotteries Act was last updated in 2015 and makes no mention of online gambling, either real-money or sweepstakes.

Understanding Sweeps Coins and Gold Coins

No purchase is necessary at sweepstakes casinos. If you have played at a traditional online casino in Canada, here is a breakdown of the two virtual currencies used at sweepstakes sites:

  • Gold Coins (GC): These are purely for entertainment. You use Gold Coins to play games for fun, and they have no real-world monetary value. You can acquire them for free through various promotions, daily bonuses, or as part of Gold Coin package purchases.
  • Sweeps Coins (SC): These are the key to prize redemption. Sweeps Coins cannot be purchased directly; they are always provided as a free bonus when you purchase Gold Coin packages or through free promotional methods such as mail-in requests or social media giveaways. When you play games using Sweeps Coins and win, the accumulated Sweeps Coins can then be redeemed for cash prizes or gift cards. The value of Sweeps Coins is typically standardized, for example, 1 Sweeps Coin often equals $1 USD (of CAD) for redemption purposes, though this may vary slightly by platform.

Step-by-Step Process For Signing Up in Canada

All of our recommended sites have responsible gambling and your safety in mind. That being said they do require verified accounts to play. Here’s how to sign-up and play:

  1. Choose Your Casino: Select one of our recommended Canadian-friendly sweepstakes casinos that best suits your preferences.
  2. Visit the Website: Navigate to the official website of your chosen sweepstakes casino.
  3. Click “Register” or “Sign Up”: Locate the registration button, typically in the top right corner of the homepage.
  4. Provide Information: You will be prompted to enter basic details such as your name, email address, date of birth, and desired password. Ensure all information is accurate to avoid issues with verification.
  5. Agree to Terms and Conditions: Read and accept the casino’s terms of service and privacy policy. This is a critical step for legal compliance.
  6. Verify Your Account (if required): Some platforms may require email or phone verification to complete the registration. Follow the instructions provided.

Claim Your Welcome Bonus: Upon successful registration, your welcome bonus of Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins will typically be automatically credited to your account, allowing you to start playing immediately.
